Mahón

If Mahón is what it is, and Menorca is what it is, it is mainly due to possessing something that has been the envy of all the civilizations and empires that have crossed the Mediterranean over the centuries. And this coveted possession is the largest natural harbour in the Mediterranean. Above its high cliffs grew Mahón, a bright, enlightened and humane city. A pleasant way of seeing just how the city is connected to its port is to wander through the pretty square by the fish market and the cloisters of Carmen which house the market. Look at all the beautiful old houses overlooking the port, with the odd narrow walkway which leads to a lookout to drink in the spectacular views of this amazing harbour.
